Empowerment of the People today & the Future tomorrow.
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Just like many African countries, Kenya has had its problems. The country has undergone some politically motivated conflicts that have had a significant impact on its economical state considering that the country’s economy is largely reliant on tourism. Because of the heavy publicising of these unfortunate events in the country, tourism took a big hit as tourists were reluctant to visit the country. This inevitably had a domino effect as it created the problem of high rates of youth unemployment which then led to an increase of the use of illicit drugs, crime, prostitution and even left the youth susceptible to recruitment by terrorist groups.
Our purpose is to tackle these social problems in Kenya by creating employment for talented, local artisans and thereby assisting them to earn a livelihood and to impact their communities positively. Also, because the future of any society is undeniably tied to the development of its youth, we strive to attract young people to the trade by showing them they can evade poverty and the hardships that they have faced in their lives by learning this unique craft. Instead of assisting these communities through hand outs & charity, we seek to empower them to earn an honest living by applying their acquired skills.
